Foerster was Nietzsche's loathesome brother-in-law. With Elizabeth Nietzsche, the philosopher's sister, he founded a "Germanic" (i.e., anti-semitic) colony in Paraguay in 1886. The epigraph, "Die Liebe Hoeret nimmer auf"--"Love never fails"--"El Amor nunca falla"--is from Corinthians.
